This is a piece (or a group of pieces) from that show. I love the mish-mash mythological styles, especially the colouring, in Saddo’s work.
I can’t remember how, when or where I came across Pac0 Pomet. But when you see his surreal paintings you don’t forget them easily.
Bit of a Romantic one this week and a fair departure from the usual stylings.
It was a postcard reproduction on sale in the shop. I didn’t buy it, I never saw it again and didn’t know the name.
But the image stayed with me and then it turned up on ffffound the other week and I was most pleased!
This stood out at first because it evoked thoughts of a mystical mountanous lost world created by a collage; then it reminded me of Chinese restaurants (?!); then I was surprised to discover it was done in oils on canvas.
What a feat of artistry! I think it’s wonderful.
The talent in question Sea Hyun Lee. You can gaze over more of the ‘Red Between’ series on the Union Gallery site.
Think I first saw it on ffffound.
